Organizational Structure

To fulfill our mission of working for equal and civil rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender South Carolinians, SC Equality works through two partner organizations:  South Carolina Equality, Inc. and South Carolina Equality Coalition, Inc.


South Carolina Equality Coalition, Inc. is the political action and advocacy organization that engages in lobbying the legislature and other policy makers throughout the state to enact fair legislation for LGBT South Carolinians to advance equality.

The Coalition is a 501(c) 4 organization, and as such, contributions to the Coalition are not tax deductible.

South Carolina Equality, Inc. engages in educational activities, providing non-partisan information to decision makers and working to organize and mobilize LGBT residents and allies to advance equality throughout the state.    

SCEF is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization, and donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
