BREAKING NEWS: SC says YES today to marriage equality!

November 11, 2014

This morning, the Federal District Court in Charleston made history by striking down the ban on same-sex marriage in South Carolina. Minus a stay from the Fourth Circuit Court or the US Supreme Court, marriages between same-sex couples can begin on Nov. 20. This is a TREMENDOUS victory—SC said YES!
Congratulations Colleen Condon, Nichols Bleckley, our SC Equality Litigation Team, Lambda Legal, all the couples who bravely stepped forward, and the activists and allies whose hard work over the years has made this day possible!
While we still have a lot of work to do for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in our state, TODAY IS A DAY TO CELEBRATE! So join us tonight and throughout the week as we come together and raise a glass to marriage equality!
