Give Out Day is the national day of giving dedicated to LGBTQ+ organizations, and on June 4 it gives South Carolinians a direct, concrete way to invest in the work of full equality close to home. For SC Equality, it is one of the most important fundraising days of the year — and this year, every gift goes further.
What your gift actually funds
Equality is not abstract. It is built through sustained, year-round work, and that work has real costs. When you give to SC Equality, you fund the things that keep our community protected and visible across South Carolina: legislative advocacy and bill tracking at the State House, coalition-building with partners across the state, community events that bring people together, and the communications that keep South Carolinians informed about the policies that affect their lives.
We are South Carolina's longest-standing LGBTQ+ advocacy organization, founded in 2002. For 24 years, we have shown up — and your support is what makes that presence possible.
Why Give Out Day matters here
South Carolina's LGBTQ+ community faces a steady stream of legislative challenges. Our response has never been panic; it has been strategy. We track the bills, explain them in plain language, organize people, and hold the line. That kind of durable, statewide advocacy depends on a base of supporters who give not only in moments of crisis, but on the good days too. Give Out Day is one of those days.
This year: a $1,000 match and a $5,000 goal
On June 4, a generous supporter has pledged a $1,000 matching gift — so the first $1,000 in donations will be doubled, dollar for dollar. Our goal is $5,000 in a single day. A $30 gift becomes $60. That is real fuel for the work, and it is the most efficient your dollar will be all year.
